FEBRUARY STUDIO THEME: LOVE
“A true partner or friend is one who encourages you to look deep inside yourself for the beauty and love you’ve been seeking.”
― Thích Nhất Hạnh, How to Love
So much has been written, spoken and sung about love, especially in pop culture, where discussions about love are often centered on its object: love of self, family, friends, pets, romantic partners.
But what about love itself?
This Valentine’s month, we offer this reminder: focus only on love’s awakening, and allow that in and of itself to be paramount. The awareness is on cultivating universal love; not conditional love.
The heart center is the featured chakra for love, but in essence, love is found everywhere, in every chakra; it is the foundational energy of our universe, and the driving force of all creation.
That said, the heart center is always a good place to begin the work of love.
This month, our asanas, breathing practices and. meditation will lean toward opening the heart center wherever possible and finding our home within its radiating energy.
May your yoga practice inspire your thoughts, words and actions,
Warmly,
Yuko & Ginger
